2025 Fall - Winter Internship

We’re thrilled to announce Meta Forge Studio’s first-ever Internship Program, open exclusively to UT Dallas students! This is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the video game industry while contributing to exciting projects that bring worlds to life.

Whether you’re a business strategist, programmer, artist, or designer — beginner or advanced — there’s a place for you here. We’re looking for driven, passionate individuals who want to grow, create, and make an impact.

As an intern, you’ll get the chance to:

  • Develop and sharpen your skills in Marketing, Programming, Asset Development, or Level Design

  • Learn the ins and outs of the video game industry

  • Network with industry professionals and peers

  • Attend events and workshops

  • Expand your portfolio with real-world projects

  • And of course — have fun while building your future 🎮

INTERNSHIP ROLES

  • Marketing Strategist

    WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

    - Someone passionate about growing personality and in a community.
    - Wearing multiple hats.
    - Initiative

    WHAT WILL YOU BE WORKING ON?

    - Managing social media accounts
    - Designing business strategy
    - Connecting with potential customers

    DESIRABLE SKILLS:

    - Social media
    - Google trends
    - Marketing AI

  • Asset Generalist

    WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

    - Someone passionate about growing personality and in a community.
    - Wearing multiple hats.
    - Initiative
    - Detail oriented

    WHAT WILL YOU BE WORKING ON?

    - Designing assets for our games
    - Asset Scanning business
    - Animations

    DESIRABLE SKILLS:

    - Maya
    - Blender

  • Programmer

    WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

    - Solid understanding working with complex blueprint systems (using a combination of blueprint interfaces, components, composite data tables, etc)
    - Has experience with intermediate UI systems (inventory systems, etc)
    - Basic understanding of AI and behavior trees

    WHAT WILL YOU BE WORKING ON?

    - gameplay physics of players and characters
    - create mechanics and systems
    - troubleshoot bugs
    - able to provide updates on a weekly basis

    DESIRABLE SKILLS:

    - Basic understanding of niagara fx
    - Has a good understanding troubleshooting level streaming systems

  • Level Designer

    WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

    - Solid understanding of level design fundamentals
    - Has experience designing for (insert game genre here)
    - Unreal Engine 5 experience,

    WHAT WILL YOU BE WORKING ON?

    - Games!

    DESIRABLE SKILLS:

    - basic understanding of Blueprints
    - programming skills
    - basic understanding of UE's sound system

  • Timeline / Dates

    • Application open: September 12th

    • Internship start: September 29th

    • Internship end: February 2026

  • Application Process

  • Commitment / Format

    • Hours per week: 20 (part time)

    • Fully Remote. Some optional social and networking events will be in person

  • Compensation / Credit

    • Unpaid portfolio-building Internship Experience

    • Additional Compensation discussed during interview

  • Eligibility

    • Must be a UT Dallas current student

    • Bachelor study focus on the internship’s role

Game Jam

  • Who can participate?

    Open to current and recently graduated UT Dallas students.

  • What will you submit?

    Playable Game Build

  • Accepted Build Formats (upload at least one):

    • Web Build (preferred): .html / .zip (exported WebGL build if using Unity, Godot, etc.)

    • Standalone Build (optional):

      • Windows: .exe packaged inside a .zip

      • Mac: .app packaged inside a .zip

      • Linux: .AppImage or .tar.gz

  • Game Folder Structure (if standalone):

    • GameName/

      • GameName.exe (or .app/.AppImage)

      • GameName_Data/ (if required)

      • README.txt (optional but encouraged)

  • Deadlines and important dates?

    First Asset Jam will begin Novembers 1st and end on November 30th

  • Why we are doing this jam?

    We want to help students get experience and a small token of appreciation for their skills

  • Prize

    $180 winning team, trophy, recognition

  • What will happen to the games?

    Winning Assets and Game Jams will be posted in our social media as well as reviewed in our Youtube videos. the creator of the assets owns the assets, not the studio.

Asset Jams

  • Who can participate?

  • What will you submit?

    Deliverables:

    For Single 3D Asset Submissions:

    • 3D Model Files:

      • Accepted formats: .fbx, .obj, .blend (optional but recommended)

      • Include all textures and materials used.

      • Textures & Materials:

        Acceptable formats: .png, .jpg, .tga

      • Recommended sizes: 2K (2048x2048) max unless otherwise required.

      • Preview Image (optional but encouraged): .png or .jpg

      • Readme File: Include asset name, description, and any instructions if special shaders/plugins are required.

  • Deadlines and important dates?

    • Jam Start: October 1st

    • Jam End: Halloween

  • Why we are doing this jam?

    We want to help students get experience and a small token of appreciation for their skills

  • Prizes

    Single Asset Jam: $60.

    Team Asset Jam: $180
